Pendar joined SBTi in 2023 as Head of Financial Institutions Engagement.
He has over 25 years of senior strategy and sustainability experience at Climate Risk Strategy, British Bankers’ Association, HSBC and KPMG where his primary sector focus has been banking and financial services.
At the start of his career at PwC Consulting and Logica, he supported Energy and Utility firms with their regulatory driven systems and process change projects.
Pendar holds a PhD from Imperial College, where his research was aimed at reducing emissions from automotive vehicles.
He is equally passionate about climate change and facilitating firms in achieving rapid net zero transition.
