Sam Ludlow Taylor is the Planning & Performance Lead at the John Lewis Partnership, a Purpose-led co-owned business. Her role focuses on ensuring that the Partnerships Ethics & Sustainability programme has the correct governance in place, including our public reporting and assurance processes.

Sam began her career in buying and merchandising roles for a department store, transitioning into the world of responsible sourcing and sustainability after studying for her Masters in Corporate Social Responsibility. She has worked in various supply chain roles both within the food and clothing sectors. Prior to her current role, she headed up the Partnership’s Human Rights Team focusing on ensuring decent working conditions for those with their global supply chains. Sam also plays a role in the governance of the Waitrose Foundation, a unique supply chain initiative which invests a percentage of sales revenue back into the Foundation’s farms.

Sam is also a Board member for the Ethical Trading Initiative, a multi stakeholder initiative bringing together companies, non-government organisations and trade unions whose mission is to influence business to act responsibly and promote decent work.
